To ensure that school leavers are still able to access the resources available to them in Career Tools, secondary email functionality has been introduced so that students are still able to log in even if they no longer have access to their school email.
Teacher Secure Area
Adding Secondary Emails
- Go to Menu > Students
- Enter student's name in the search box
- Click the student's name in the results
- In their profile, click the Pencil icon next to their name
- Go to the 'Emails' tab
- Click 'Add New [+]'
- Enter the student's secondary Email
- Click Submit
A student can have multiple secondary email addresses listed on their profile. Once the email has been added, students will need to ensure they've taken steps to verify their email.
Force Verifying Accounts and Emails
In Menu > Students, and on Student Profiles verified emails will be marked with a star and unverified emails will be marked with a question mark
In a student's profile, you will have the ability to force verify the account and the subsequent emails
To verify individual secondary email addresses.
- Click the pencil icon in the Student's profile (located next to their name)
- Click the Emails tab
- Click the ellipsis to the right of the secondary email
- Select 'Verify Email'
Note: Be sure to exercise discretion when using this function to minimise instances of privacy breaches
Email addresses must be verified for students to access their Career Tools account. If a student logs in with an unverified email, they'll be met with a verification wall
Student Secure Area
To update their own emails, students will need to navigate to Profile > My Profile > Emails tab
Students will be able to:
- Add additional secondary emails
- Resend verification links to their secondary email
- Remove any unwanted secondary emails
